Good morning, It’s my pleasure to be here. Today I’ll talk about Unit 3 Oxford Primary English Boook5: Hobbies Part A Read and say. The topic on this lesson is something about hobbies. This is a useful expression for students.The study of this lesson will help the Ss to use simple English in communication. I’ll prepare to say the lesson from four parts.
Part One: Analysis of the Teaching Material
(一) STATUS AND FUNCTION
1. Part A is a dialogue .The lesson is focused on the topic of the activities of the
hobbies. From this lesson, we can talk about our hobbies with each other.
2. Such a topic is related to daily life, so it is helpful to raise learning interests of
the students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English.
(二)ANALYSIS OF THE STUDENTS
The Ss has learned English for five years so far. They can understand many words
and sentences. The Ss have taken a great interest in English now.
(三)TEACHING AIMS AND DEMANDS
1. Knowledge objects
(1) To make the Ss know how to use the sentences: Do you have any hobbies? Yes, I do. I like… He\She likes…too.
(2) To make the Ss know how to talk about their hobbies with each other.
(3) To finish some exercises.
2. Ability objects
(1) To develop the Ss’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
(2) To train the Ss’ ability of working in groups.
(3) To develop the Ss’ abilities of communication by learning the useful structures.
(4) To develop their ability of thinking independently.
3. Moral objects
(1) Arouse their interest in learning English;
(2) Encourage the students to do many things and love life.
(四)TEACHING KEY AND DIFFICULT POINTS
1.Key points:
(1). To enable the Ss master the new words, phrases and sentences.
(2). To help the Ss to communicate with each other.
(3).To develop the Ss’ interest in English.
2. Difficult points:
(1) How to make dialogues and act them out.
(2) Present tense third person singular

In this lesson, the small blackboard and some paper will be used.
Part Two: The Teaching Methods
To cultivate the Ss’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing, to increase
the students’ ability of learning English by themselves and to arouse their interest, in this period, I’ll use the teaching methods below:
1. Communication method
I’ll set up a real situation, in this way, the Ss can say in pairs or in groups, they can say freely and needn’t worry about making mistakes.
2. Task-based method
As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate students ‘basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I will let the Ss learn in real situations, finish a task by doing in groups. Help the Ss to get a better understanding of the key structure of the dialogue.
Part three: Teaching procedure
Step 1: Free talk (Students A ask and answer with the other students.)
What day is it today?
What lessons do we have in the morning?
What subject do you like best?
What’s ten plus twenty?
Who’s boy over there?
Make a telephone call with other students
…
This step is to form a better situation for the students. They will come into the real surrounding of English, and it can also review the knowledge for the next step.
Step 2: Presentation
I’ll mainly talk about this period.
First I’ll check yesterday’s homework. Let students read the dialogue in groups. Then .invite some of the groups to read it for us.
Secondly, do some exercises. If students finish the task, they can check the answer in groups. (检查前一天晚上的家作)
Thirdly,I’ll say “my children, just know we know that Ben’s bobbies is collecting stamps. So do you have any hobbies? (复习巩固第一课时的句型和词组) Practice with the students. Students A ask students B, then students B ask students C, the others ask one by one.
Next, summary Present tense third person singular(由学生总结第三人称的注意点) then students underline the sentences about Present tense third person singular of part A. After, check the answer in groups.
Furthermore, students look at the questions on the paper(课内活动单) listen to the tape and then answer the questions This step, I want to train the students’ ability of listening.
After, students will learn part A in groups

This step is very important of the lesson. The students read the dialogue loudly and freely. In this course, the students can understand the main contents of this dialogue. They can find the answers by themselves. They will feel happy and successful during this part. I think, the students can learn them by themselves. But make sure they can read them well.

This step, I want to check the knowledge the Ss have learned in this lesson. If the Ss finish the exercise well, they will understand the dialogue better. Here, please pay attention to the grammar focus: the subject is the third person singular, this is very important.

This step, I think it’s good for Ss to talk about something of part A, and train students’ ability of thinking and team-work. If they can not, then teacher will help them.

This part is the consolidation of the key structure, and also is an extensive activity for the Ss. During this part, the Ss can think and say by themselves, they will be glad to use the knowledge they have learnt, and their creative power will be well trained, and also I want to train their ability of writing.
The last is summary.
Let Ss summary the main points in groups. And then invite some of them to act.
Homework: 1 Try to retell the text.
2 talk about your hobbies with your parents and friends.
I think homework is so important that the Ss should speak English as much as they can in class or after class. It is necessary for the Ss to do some extensive exercises after class to consolidate the knowledge they learned.
